Behold! A round-up of links! I bet you’ve never seen that before!
Anyway, here are some of the bookish articles/posts I have been reading this week and thought were worthy of sharing with the rest of you. Some are very recent, some are older but all I decided to post here.
- What’s With All The Hate?
Over at The Book Lantern there’s a discussion about a lack of female-female friendship in YA. Once again TBL are reading my own mind, as I was just bemoaning a lack of friendships like that of Liz and Maria from Roswell in YA. - Foz Meadows on Bad Boys
Foz Meadows always has brilliant things to say, and she’s right on target with her post over at The Book Smugglers about bad boys. (This new trend of physically and/or emotionally abusive guys being the new bad boys is one of my major dislikes of the moment) - ‘The Giver’ Film Adaptation ‘Is Finally on the Road’
It’s only been about 15 years of rumours, but Lois Lowry has confirmed that The Giver movie is on the road! Oscar-winner (and advocate for the project) Jeff Bridges will play the title character; the hunt is on for Jonas. - The NYT Best Seller Lists and Gender Dominance: A Brief Survey
Inspired by the awesome ladies of Lady Business and their post onGender Balance in YA Award Winners since 2000 (which you should definitely also read) Casey Wilson takes a look at the gender breakdown of YA NYT bestsellers. - This TARDIS Bookshelf Might Be Bigger on the Inside
Someone built themselves a TARDIS bookcase, complete with sound effects! And they were kind enough to post a how-to, just in case you wanted to make your own.
Got a link you think I should read? Go ahead and link me to it!
